Check Out Our New CHNA/CHIP Video & More!

It’s been about a year since we released our latest Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and a little over six months since we issued our response to the CHNA, in our Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). We focused our assessment around the concept that the neighborhoods that children call home make a big difference in their opportunity to develop to their full potential. Neighborhood features – such as the quality of schools, access to healthy food, and employment rates – shape a child’s future. We used a tool, the Child Opportunity Index, that measures the level of child opportunity in every census tract (i.e., neighborhood) across the United States on a scale of 1 to 100. Here’s our post about our CHNA and CHIP!

Since we issued these two reports, we have been looking for ways to share our findings and plans with our broader community. We worked with a marketing and communications firm – MW Consulting, LLC – to design products that share what we’ve learned in a concise and engaging way. I’ll share two products that MW Consulting created for us: 1) a one-pager that synthesizes our work into one simple double-sided page and 2) a short explainer video.

First, the one-pager – the front side describes our CHNA work and the back side discusses our CHIP initiative. You can download a copy here.

We also created a short video that conveys our work in 30 seconds!

We will continue creating communication products that share our work with our community. If you have any feedback, we are all ears: communityaffairs@childrensnational.org.
